| So last night while I was stocking the grand aisle of 6 at wal mart, I started kinda singing
"Jesus Loves Me" in my head. Hehe yes it's kinda a kiddie song, I
remember singing it in sunday school when I was young. But as it was
playing through my head, I started compemplating what the song actually
says.
"Jesus loves me this I know
For the Bible tells me so
Little ones to Him belong
They are weak but He is strong
Yes, Jesus loves me!
Yes, Jesus loves me!
Yes, Jesus loves me!
The Bible tells me so."
Simple song it is. I was thinking how the Bible tells us many times that
Jesus loves. I was thinking how we are like little ones, you know God's
children. Then the verse that says about becoming like a child to enter
the kingdom of heaven came to mind. I'll find it for you.
(KJV) Matt. 18:3 And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be
converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the
kingdom of heaven. (18:4) Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as
this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
(NIV) Matt. 18:3 And he said: “I tell you the truth, unless you change
and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of
heaven. (18:4) Therefore, whoever humbles himself like this child is the
greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
So then thinking upon that lead to the thought of having faith like a
child, like simply believing. Like the song says "Jesus loves me, this I
know, for the Bible tells me so". For the Bible tells me so, hmm in the
eyes of the world today many would question whether the Bible is true
and be hesitatint to believe it. Which brings me to what faith is, what
it means to me at least. And that is knowing that the Bible is the
truth, knowing that Jesus does in fact love me, not doubting it. So
going back to being like a child that touched on the subject how Jesus
always welcomed children such as said here:
(NIV) Matt. 19:13 Then little children were brought to Jesus for him to
place his hands on them and pray for them. But the disciples rebuked
those who brought them. (19:14) Jesus said, “Let the little children
come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to
such as these.”
(KJV) Matt. 19:13 Then were there brought unto him little children, that
he should put his hands on them, and pray: and the disciples rebuked
them. (19:14) But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them
not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.
"Little ones to Him belong
They are weak but He is strong"
So I found it kinda funny yet incredible how something such "Jesus love
me" a simple song could become a point of Bible study. What a great song
it is! |
